Pre and Postnatal Fitness Classes
Join our moms-only, postnatal focused exercise class, for moms who are six weeks to one-year postpartum and have been cleared by their doctor for exercise. Postnatal Transformation will focus on functional movements incorporating weights, cardio and stability to get you feeling fabulous again, following the birth of your child! This new class will be held every Tuesday from 6:40 to 7:40 p.m. at the Parker Recreation Center, 17301 E. Lincoln Ave. beginning May 17 through June 21. Cost is $40 for Parker residents and $44 for non-residents, ages 18 and up.
Experience the physical benefits of Pilates Reformer classes and work towards building core strength and restoring your pelvic floor after pregnancy. Postnatal Pilates Reformer is for women between four weeks and three months post-partum. A doctor's note is required to participate, and newborns can attend class but must remain in car seat. This beginner to advanced class is held every Tuesday from 6 to 6:55 p.m. from May 17 through June 7 or June 14 through July 19 at the Recreation Center. Cost is $100 for Parker residents and $110 for non-residents.
A gentle yoga practice is an effective way to connect with your body during pregnancy and can help with your posture, your circulation and your energy levels. Prenatal Yoga is a multifaceted approach to exercise that encourages stretching, mental centering and focused breathing. With modifications suitable for each trimester, this class allows you to meet your body where it is now. Prenatal Yoga includes poses, deep breathing, relaxation and meditation that may be practiced through all trimesters (clearing any medical issues with the care provider). This six-week class is held every Wednesday from 10:45 to 11:45 a.m. beginning June 15 through July 20 at the Recreation Center. Cost is $57 per Parker resident and $63 for non-residents.
