Getting Started


Youth ages 13 to 15 must complete a mandatory free Fitness Equipment Orientation before utilizing the weight and cardiovascular areas within the Recreation Center and Fieldhouse. They must also complete an orientation prior to participating in any group fitness classes.

Youth ages 13 and 14 are required to be with an adult in the fitness areas while working out. After they've completed the Fitness Equipment Orientation, youth age 15 may be in the fitness areas by themselves. 

Free Fitness Equipment Orientations are offered each Monday at 6, 7 and 8 p.m. at the Recreation Center. Registration is not necessary. Orientations include a demonstration on the proper use of equipment, weight room etiquette and proper equipment safety. 

Specialty Fitness for Youth


Several Youth Specialty Fitness classes and camps are also offered, including Strength and Conditioning classes, Speed and Agility, Zumba Kids, and more! Looking for a challenge? The Kids' TRY-Athlon will get your little one biking, running and swimming!  Registration is required for Specialty Fitness classes. Get more information and register here.

Commit to Fit for Teens


This eight-week training program is designed to increase physical activity and provide professional guidance and accountability for developing healthy lifestyle habits. This program includes one-on-one personal training, individual and family nutrition counseling and your choice of a 10-Visit pass or a 10-Visit Zumba pass.
