Modified Girls' Fastpitch Softball
Our girls' fastpitch softball league is an introduction to fastpitch softball. The emphasis is to teach the participants the fundamentals of fastpitch while encouraging teamwork, sportsmanship and having fun! Teams will receive 1 to 2 practices per week with games on Friday evenings or Saturdays.
Using recreational modifications, divisions build on skills learned at each age group, allowing players to progress to more conventional fastpitch rules.
- 6 to 8: Coach Pitch
- 8 to 10: Player pitch with a coach pitcher if needed
- 10 through 14: Player pitch
The age group your child plays in will be determined by their age at the end of each season. They must turn the minimum age or still be the maximum age at the end of the season. Age groups will overlap. If your child is an age that overlaps, please choose the division based on their past playing experience, skill and size. However, we will combine divisions if we have to in order to fill a division.
Double Angel Scholarship
Double Angel Foundation provides scholarships to assist with fees for youth baseball and softball participants. Fill out the scholarship form or contact Angie Combest at acombest@parkeronline.org for additional information.
The Double Angel Foundation and scholarship were formed after two baseball-loving brothers, Dillon and Logan Dixey, drowned following carbon monoxide exposure while boating. Visit www.doubleangel.org for more information about Double Angel.
Softball Camps and Clinics
Parker Recreation partners with Rogue Baseball Club and Pitching Instructor Nicole Pedersen to offer softball camps and clinics. These are recreational in nature and designed for beginner and intermediate players.
Rockies Skills Challenge
This FREE event is offered through partnership with the Colorado Association for Recreational Athletics (CARA). Youth will showcase their base running, batting and throwing skills as they compete in gender-specific age divisions for a chance to advance to sectionals and state finals. Tennis shoes, rubber molded or plastic cleats are allowed; metal spikes are not permitted. Please bring a COPY of the child's birth certificate to the local event.
Please Note: Girls' Modified Fastpitch league is only offered in the summer. Softball camps, clinics and events are offered at various times throughout the year. View our Parker Parks and Recreation Guide for current and specific information about leagues, camps and clinics.
